Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey has a new boomerang coaster
The Flash: Vertical Velocity, celebrates the famed DC Comics character
The coaster has forward and backward launches, four inversions, 10 negative-gravity airtime moments and a top speed of 60 mph
Anyone over 48 inches in height will be able to ride
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, US, is gearing up to launch The Flash: Vertical Velocity, based on the Marvel character and built by Vekoma.

The rollercoaster combines forward and backward launches, four intense inversions, 10 negative-gravity airtime moments and a top speed of 60 mph.

The combination of these elements make it the first super boomerang coaster in the US.

With a minimum height requirement of 48 inches, The Flash: Vertical Velocity will be suitable for for a wide range of guests.

Standing 172 ft tall, the coaster has a track length of 1,430 ft.

“The Flash: Vertical Velocity is the perfect addition to our world-class lineup of roller coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure,” said park president Brian Bacica. “This high-energy ride delivers everything coaster fans are looking for — forward and backward launches, inversions and an adrenaline rush that even The Flash himself would approve of.

"With its height requirement, junior and experienced thrill seekers alike will have the chance to experience it firsthand.”

Six Flags Great Adventure is owned by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, which has 27 amusement parks, 15 waterparks and nine resort properties across 17 states in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Six Flags has a portfolio of intellectual properties, from Looney Tunes, DC Comics and Peanuts, under licence from Warner Bros Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, part of Warner Bros Discovery Global Brands, Franchises and Experiences.
