The owners of Covent Garden piazza and market hall in London – Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) and Henderson Global Investors – have reportedly put the property on the market for around £350m.
According to reports, Swip and Henderson were approached by a private investor with an unsolicited offer of £359m, which would represent a 10 per cent increase on the property valuation made in December 2005.
Investment agent Joiner Cummings is handling the sale but has declined to comment on the future of the 255,000sq ft (24,000sq m) mixed-use property.
