Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaska has officially unveiled the Sri Dalada International Museum of World Buddhism on the site of Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
The attraction is designed to help provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the history of the Buddhist faith and has been shaped with contributions from 17 countries.
Nepal; Pakistan; India; Afghanistan; China and Thailand are among the Buddhist countries to contribute towards the establishment of the museum, which opened on 20 May.
