The first ever British Tourism Week, organised by Ukinbound and VisitBritain, will begin next month.
The event, which will last from 12-18 March, was created to raise national and international awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain’s £74bn visitor economy.
Scheduled events include photo exhibitions, the SHINE Awards – which recognises the accomplishment of the women in travel, tourism and hospitality – and the British Travel Trade Fair.
The Prince of Wales is the patron of the week, which is also supported by the Tourism Alliance, the Tourism Society and the Association of British Travel Agents. Details: www.britishtourismweek.co.uk
