A new exhibition opens next month at the Museum of Sydney in Australia, looking at the history of the city’s famous Bondi Beach.
The exhibition will focus on two themes, firstly, why beaches in general and Bondi in particular have been adopted as the iconic image of Australia and secondly, how history has repeated itself in Bondi through the constant recycling of a series of debates about the suburb’s function.
Bondi a Biography will include photos, maps, plans and artwork as well as archival footage, newspaper clippings and interviews with Bondi personalities.
The museum of Sydney is operated by the Historic Houses Trust. Details: www.hht.net.au
