Aquatic Development Group begins construction on multi-million dollar New York waterpark
POSTED 05 Feb 2018 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
The Kartrite Hotel & Indoor Waterpark is being built on the Resorts World Catskills campus in Thompson, New York
The Aquatic Development Group (ADG) have started work on a multi-million dollar, indoor waterpark project at The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark resort in New York state's Catskill Mountains.

Slated to open in early 2019, the waterpark will be open year round and will feature five ProSlide-supplied waterslides, a FlowRider surf attraction, a wave pool with LED movie screen, a lazy river, kid’s activity pool, and a multi-level play structure with slides, as well as a Mezzanine level with a bar and grill. It will also have an ‘upscale’ tropical theme, with lush landscaping, cabanas and deck space.

Designed to maintain a year-round temperature of 26°C (80°F), the waterpark will also include a 60,000sq ft (18,288sq m) Texlon transparent roofing system, which features a barrel-shape and column-free construction.

In addition to the 70,000sq ft (21,336sq m) indoor waterpark space, the US$150m (€120m, £106m) resort will feature a 324-bedroom luxury hotel, ropes course, arcade, luxury spa, and a number of restaurants and eateries. It will be located on the newly-opened Resorts World Catskills campus in Thompson, New York.

Ken Ellis CEO of Aquatic Development Group and co-owner of The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark, says: "The Kartrite brand personifies global exploration. Its cheeky, contemporary design will put an entirely re-imagined Catskills back on the map for a new generation of international travelers."

"The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark will be perfectly situated to exceed the expectations of the most discerning adventure-seekers from the New York metropolitan area and beyond."

"We’re building upon the family-focused thrills and amenities that have made Camelback Resort & Aquatopia a premier destination in the Poconos,” said Berry. “The Resorts World Catskills property provides a unique opportunity for us to provide a whole new adventure for customers as part of a true global destination resort."
The resort will include a state-of-the-art indoor waterpark, luxury hotel, restaurants, rope course and arcade
The resort will span over 430,000sq ft and is due to open early next year
