A new £1.2m gallery, called InterAction, will open to the
public on 16 March at Action Stations, part of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in the UK.
The new gallery is divided into four themes – Dynamic Ocean, Sensors & Communications, Structures & Materials and Propulsion – and includes 27 large-scale exhibits featuring interactive exhibits and gadgets.
The exhibits are themed around machinery which has made the
UK one of the world leaders in marine technology.
Frank Nowosielski, general manager, said: “The gallery will be very visual and energetic and offers a real understanding off science and technology. It will present a good contrast to visiting the site’s historic ships and museum.”
The gallery was funded by the ReDiscover fund and a number of local technology companies.
