ASTM International – the global body that develops and delivers voluntary standards used to improve product quality and enhance health and safety – has developed a new safety standard for conveyors used in waterparks.
The new standard, soon to be published as F3158, ‘Practice for Water Slide Conveyors for Rafts, Tubes, and Guests,’ focuses on the safety of conveyors used on water rides for transportation, with the practice written to “provide guidance to manufacturers and regulators on the design, manufacture, and construction of conveyors.”
The new standard will also help owners and operators better understand the maintenance requirements of conveyors used in waterparks.
