AEG Europe has announced the launch of its new Up at The O2 tourist experience, which takes visitors on a guided expedition across the roof of the O2 Arena in London, UK.

The development of the new attraction is the result of a partnership between AEG Europe - the owner and operator of the landmark entertainment venue - and communications firm O2.

A tensile fabric walkway suspended 52m (171ft) above the ground has been installed on the roof of the O2 Arena, with a central vantage point offering 360-degree views of the capital.

The experience begins at the Base Camp, a fully immersive briefing area inspired by climbs around the world and the arena itself and where visitors are kitted out for the walk.

Climbers are guided in groups of 30 to the central platform along a 190m (623ft) walkway. It is open to people aged at least 10-years-old and at least 1.2m (3.9ft) in height.

AEG Europe senior vice president for real estate Alistair Wood said: "Representing a significant investment for AEG, the realisation of Up at The O2 is a demonstration of our continued commitment to developing and diversifying The O2.

"We believe that Up at The O2 will increase daytime visitation to The O2 and appeal not only to the venue's existing visitors but also bring new custom."
