Interactive centre, Discover, opened to the public on 28 June in Stratford, East London.

The centre is the result of a £6m investment and the input of over 20,000 local children, parents and carers and aims to help children from two to seven learn and gain confidence in literacy, language, communication and creativity.

Children can use the centre’s exhibits – including the Lollipopter, the Squirm Tunnel and the Scary Keyboard – to explore and discover by looking, listening, touching and interacting – inventing a world and creating a place for themselves within it.

Poet and Discover patron, Benjamin Zephaniah, said: “It is very important to give children time and space to use their imagination and I can see that Discover offers real benefits.”
