Scenic Railway, the 82-year-old wooden rollercoaster at Margate's Dreamland amusement park, has become the first ride in Britain to be recognised as a listed building.
The roller coaster, which opened in 1920, received a Grade II listed status from English Heritage.
It travels the mile-long track at just 15mph, and has manually operated brakes controlled by a trained operator perched between two carriages.
