Zulu museum opens in South Africa
BY Tom Walker

A museum charting the history and culture of the Zulu has opened at the Emakhosini Ophathe Heritage Park near Ulundi in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

The museum is the latest addition to the large park, designed to pay homage to King Shaka ka Senzangakhona and other kings of the Zulu nation buried there.

The 200sq km park (2,000 hectare) and its attractions are operated by Amafa, Kwazulu Natal's independent heritage body.

Facilities at the museum include a 160-seat auditorium which displays a 27-minute high definition movie, which follows a young urban Zulu boy who has little knowledge of his cultural identity and takes him on his journey of discovery.

South Africa-based Tadco and Digital Fabric joined forces with multimedia specialist Christie to create the cinema experience.
