Go Ape, the high-wire forest adventure park, is set to open its first ever site in Wales, at Margam Country Park in Port Talbot, next year.
The £300,000 attraction will be based on a similar design to the company's 17 existing sites located around Britain, offering rope bridges, trapezes and zip slides.
Work has already started on the site, with equipment being shipped over from France to create the tree-top adventure course, 40ft above the forest floor.
Neath Port Talbot Borough Council leader, Derek Vaughan, said: "Increasing the range of activities will attract more people to visit Margam Park. Margam Park is the jewel in the crown of Neath Port Talbot and we want it to be used by everyone.
"Tourism is important to the county borough, and this major attraction will provide adventures for local people and visitors alike."
The new site is part of Go Ape's plans to open 40 courses by 2012.
