The first Holiday Inn within the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, US, is planned to open this fall as part of the $1bn (715m euro, £608m) Holiday Inn brand relaunch programme.
The 14-storey hotel will feature 323 rooms including 11,000sq ft of meeting and event space, a restaurant, lounge and all-day dining room. There will also be a fitness complex with a running track, a heated swimming pool, hot tub and sundeck.
The hotel will also offer complimentary transportation, every 30 minutes, to all the resort's theme parks and guarantees access and preferred tee times at its golf courses.
"When the Holiday Inn in the Walt Disney World Resort opens this fall, it will be both the newest property in the Downtown Disney area and the only Holiday Inn on Disney property," said John Merkin, senior vice president of brand management, Holiday Inn Brands, the Americas.
"Many of today's travelers have memories of staying at Holiday Inn during their own childhood family vacations, and we're excited that our new contemporary brand will now be a part of even more vacation magic."
Brand owner, the InterContinental Hotels Group, has relaunched the 800 of its Holiday Inn properties to feature its new contemporary brand image and sign and is expected to reach one-third - or 1,000 hotels - of the Holiday Inn portfolio by the end of the year.
The relaunch programme will touch the entire 3,200 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express estate and will be completed by the end of 2010.
