Here are some of the stories that appeared on CLAD this week, from a ski slope on a ski slope in France to Zaha Hadid's Mathematics Gallery for London.

Monday

• A luxury floating hotel with 148 bedrooms has opened at the King George V lock on the River Thames in London. Read here.

• Designer Philippe Starck, music icon Lenny Kravitz and architecture studio Gensler have come together to design a stylish new hotel in Las Vegas. Read here.

• The French ski resort of Tignes will soon be able to offer 365-day skiing after having plans approved to build a €62m (US$66.4m, £52.1m) indoor slope on one of its existing runs. Read here.

• Moreau Kusunoki, the architecture studio behind the failed attempt to bring the Guggenheim art museum to Helsinki, have expressed their “disappointment” at the council’s decision to block the project. Read here.

Tuesday

• Bob Rogers, founder and chair of experience design firm BRC Imagination Arts, has said that visitor attractions must be designed as “netmarks” – a concept that takes into account social media impact on physical design. Read here.

• Architects, designers and acoustic experts have been invited to express their interest in creating a world-class arts centre and concert hall in the heart of Scotland’s capital Edinburgh. Read here.

• London’s The Lanesborough hotel, part of the luxury Oetker Collection, is set to open its new 18,000sq ft (1,672sq m) exclusive spa and wellness centre. Read here.

• The sweeping air flow around a 1920s aeroplane has inspired Zaha Hadid Architects’ eye-catching new mathematics gallery for London’s Science Museum. Read here.

Thursday

• A new global awards ceremony has been launched by design publication Sleeper to celebrate the best hotel and spa designs from around the world. Read here.

• American light artist Leo Villareal and British architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands have won a hotly-contested competition to light up 17 central London bridges along the River Thames with a free, permanent installation. Read here.

• The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded £9.1m (US$11.5m, €10.7m) to the Silverstone Heritage Experience, guaranteeing development of a new permanent exhibition at the home of British motor racing. Read here.

• Thermal wellness resort operator Vamed Vitality World has added a €14m (US$15m, £12m) stand-alone silent spa to its Therme Laa location in the Weinviertel region of northern Austria. Read here.
