Hua Song Museum in Singapore has now opened to the public.
The museum has collected 1,000 exhibits and 500 artefacts to document the lives of Chinese immigrants during the 20th century.
The migrants featured worked as railworkers in Panama, goldminers in Australia and market gardeners in the US.
The exhibits – all donated by the public since the museum’s 2004 appeal – include a travel document issued by the Qing Dynasty.
Managed by the Singapore Explorer Pte – heritage tour specialist – the museum is targeted at both locals and visitors. Details: www.huasong.org
