Hong Kong Disneyland was forced to turn away hundreds of visitors who had paid for their tickets after larger than expected crowds gathered at the park to celebrate the Chinese new year.
Local newspapers reported angry visitors scaling the fences to access the park, prompting the Hong Kong government to criticise security at the site.
Jay Rasulo, chair of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, admitted that the park would review its ticketing policy after guests were turned away on three separate days between 1 Fabruary and 4 February..
“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to accommodate everyone who wanted to visit our park during the Chinese New Year,” he said.
“Based on our experience this week, we’ll go back and make sure our ticketing policies better reflect the heavy demand around peak holiday periods.” Details: www.disney.com.hk
