Country Parks Visitor Services Manager

Country Parks Visitor Services Manager
37 hours a week (some weekend/evening working may be required)
Salary within the range £40,411 to £43,779 pa

Eastleigh Borough Council is an ambitious and progressive council, recognised for our innovation and achievements whilst delivering high quality services to our customers and the community.

The Country Parks Manager will be responsible for increasing the number of visitors to our country parks by developing sound business cases for new commercial opportunities, including robust mechanisms for monitoring and measuring success.

The post holder will also be responsible for developing a country parks strategy and working with key partners and councillors’ to ensure a successful commercial approach that increases visitor numbers, increases income generation and enhances visitor experience. The successful candidate will also be accountable for overall operational management of the Country Parks function, including a strong emphasis on health and safety, and overall management of staff and resources including budget and other assets.

The successful candidate will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role in visitor services or similar customer-facing environment together with a track record of improving customer service, developing business opportunities, partnership management and income generation. Excellent financial and budgetary skills and the ability to analyse and present financial data will also be a pre-requisite.
