California, US-based Moschanko Investment Group (MIG 2000) is behind plans for a new destination resort theme park to be developed in Russia - Magic World Russia.
MIG 2000 revealed that Gary Goddard Entertainment Design; ProFun Management Group; and (it) Brand Studios are among some of the groups that will be working on the project.
Covering more than 600 acres (243 hectares), the development is to incorporate a number of theme park concepts; hotels; retail units; dining options; and entertainment venues.
MIG 2000 is in discussions with major Hollywood studios over the construction of a studio-branded park as part of the scheme, with Paramount or Universal seen as "priority" choices.
A Magic Family Park for families with young children; Nanopolis Children's park, offering an "edutainment" experience; and separate waterparks for adults and families are planned.
Other concepts mooted include a Thrill Ride Park; an Extreme Sports Park; Park Russia, to draw on Russian culture and folklore; and a 15,000-seat concert and performance hall.
MIG 2000 chair and chief executive officer Gennady Moshkovich said: "Everyone involved with Magic World Russia is committed to creating a magical experience for kids and their families as well as a unique, world class resort, which is why we have successfully presented the project to the Russian business community and government agencies.
"Russian leaders have been instrumental in attracting world class events such as the upcoming Winter Olympics that will be held in Sochi followed shortly thereafter by the World Cup. The MIG 2000 leadership team believes Magic World Russia will be a unique addition to such great events and will last for generations to come."
