Warner Bros Entertainment and Universal Parks and Resorts (UPR) have announced plans to develop a new
Harry Potter-themed adventure park at Universal Studios Hollywood, US.
It follows the success of the inaugural Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which launched at the Universal Orlando Resort in June 2010 and is now set for a "significant" expansion.
The two companies said the new California attraction will be a fully-immersive environment for all the family in a bid to bring the
Harry Potter stories to life.
Universal Studios president and chief operating officer Ron Meyer said: "This is an incredible moment for Universal Studios and the millions of guests who visit our theme parks.
"The
Harry Potter stories are some of the most powerful of our time and we are honoured to expand our Orlando experience and bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Hollywood, forever changing family tourism in Los Angeles."
UPR chair and chief executive officer Tom Williams added: "We are thrilled to be able to share this experience with our guests in Hollywood. And we are thrilled to take what has been created in Orlando to even greater levels."
